So here is my situation. I've just finish trading with this other person and he seems legit. Got l/pw, e-mail changed, S q&a. So the next day after the trade I was playing for a bit then left for a moment then came back and acct. was ban. Me and the other person are the OO. So I received this e-mail from blizz:

Greetings,

An investigation of your World of Warcraft account has found strong evidence that the account has been accessed by someone who is not allowed to use it. The account has been disabled, so that you can regain sole and secure access. If you use a credit card to subscribe, it has been removed so you are not charged while the account is disabled. Please keep this email until you have regained account access.

So then I ask the guy about this and show him the e-mail. He said he'll send the id info and such and just wait for a while to get the ban lifted. My question is what's the chance of getting the ban lifted? How long (said he was gonna fax) will it take? Is it possible to get this e-mail due to the OO calling blizzard and reporting it or was it just Blizzard doing their job cracking down on trade? So basically does this seem like a scam to anyone or just bad luck blizzard caught on? Plz answer or post your opinion.

Hey dude, same thing has happened to me sort of. Instead my account really was stolen. You have to submit lots of info about the account to prove you are the OO, including CD keys and/or photo ID. Once you have submitted this it could take over a month to get the account back depending on how busy blizzard account department are. I submitted my account details on May 6th 2008 which is recent but up to now i have heard nothing. I called blizzard to confirm they received everything. They told me they have my details and will investigate asap.

A friend of mine who also had his account stolen submitted his details/report on February 23rd 2008, he finally got his account back this week. Which is nearly 3 months later. There was problem with his investigation because is photo ID which he had scanned wasn't very clear. But this shows you the sort of time frame it could be.

The best thing to do is stay in contact with the seller and when he retrieves the account try transferring it over again but wait a few days before doing it, and another few days before logging on.

Hope this helps, and sorry for the walls of text :P
