Before we begin, I can see no better place than here to open this kind of discussion. The idea of this post/thread is to establish some points of reference with greater detail.

I think some work should be done to establish some baseline to work off from to enable people to better appreciate the value of accounts, here for Idle Heroes in particular.

The game has had some generational changes throughout the years which made previous investments rapidly becoming obsolete, while making current investment a whole lot more worthwhile, but also subject to rapidly becoming obsolete in the potential future, as it has been the way the devs used of creating incentives to continuously invest in the game to be competitive. As such, people quitting the game often feel exhausted and have a hard time to appreciate the current value of their account as all those changes occurred.

Some things have permanent value in the game, though still relatively less and less. 5* Food, p2w artifacts being some of them. Vip levels for extra gem income for monthly card and extra tavern quests which also generate more in game resources, and now stellar shards.

Before proceeding, it's good to reminding yourself that time is money and money buys time, this is true everywhere, as it is in this game. And as so, I've decided to base off valuation around a 5% mark on most items from the game as a starting point, other things being for the moment arbitrary, as a main idea, it's still up for discussion.

Basing evaluations off 5%
Current 5* valuation:
based off the cheapest pack for a 9* puppet which was on Christmas was 20$ for the puppet, I'll be using this as a base value for most of the following
  • 9* food = 1$
  • 5* food = 0.035714$
  • 10* food = 2.285714$
  • e5 = 11.28571$
P2W artifacts are usually 200$ -> 10$
Cores: 0.75$ ea vs 5% of cheapest regular transcendent pack, if you take the now seemingly monthly core pack of 10 cores for 50$, cores would be 0.25$ and that wouldn't do it justice for the potential in choice and future value they actually represent, so I'll stick to 0.75$, as game progresses, the lower core pack might effectively be a better reference
Stellar shards: 15 cores give you an orb which you can get 250000 stellar shards from, based off that: stellar shard = 0.00001125$ or 2.8125$ for 250k shards
Feathers: 400 feathers = a p2w artifact -> 0.025$ per feather

Rng Thrill of the game, and event reward items I added a x10 value premium based on 5* food value as above for these items, as they represent future potential and extra rewards such as p2w artifacts, feathers, meta heroes of choice and the trill of the game for rng pulls which is the reason why people play this game.
Heroic summon scrolls: based off average 5* food return, which is 3.16% for a 5* on a heroic summon event, and the fused 4* as well (18.83%/8) -> HSScroll = 0.019478$
Orbs: 5* food return for an orb is around 0.247117 5* hero per orb -> 10* 0.247117 * 0.035714% -> Orb = 0.088255952$

Heroes
Transcendent hero needed 300 cores to get 1470$ -> 73.5$
For the following, I arbitrarily set some prices, there are for e5' above the food, to cover the rare copies to build the heroes, since they are of import.
  • S/A L/D heroes 25$
  • non S/A L/D heroes 15$
  • S/A non L/D heroes 20$
  • non S/A non L/D heroes 10$
VIP @ 1%
confers permanent increase in resource income vs monthly card, extra campaign loot, extra tavern quests daily and extra inventory, people buying high vip also buy into the prestige. I would price vip at 1% of the vip xp, this would look something like this: vip xp/50 (for $ spent) * 1%
  1. 350/50*1% = 0.07$
  2. 700 -> 0.14$
  3. 1400 -> 0.28$
  4. 3150 -> 0.63$
  5. 7560 -> 1.15$
  6. 18900 -> 3.78$
  7. 47250 -> 9.45$
  8. 103950 -> 20.79$
  9. 187110 -> 37.42$
  10. 299376 -> 59.88$
  11. 449064 -> 89.81$
  12. 673596 -> 134.72$
  13. 1010394 -> 202.08$
I have not touched casino coins, nor super wishing well coins. Casino events are of poor value imo, and I guess SWC could be built upon (1/9 of a S non L/D for 190 plus average orb/HSS return)

CUSTOMER REVIEWS/QUESTIONS
well fortunately this is not an absolute, but something to think about. The 1% remark however is true, it is what 1% of the vip cost represents for each level.

It's generally true that higher vip will have more characters, especially true for older accounts, and the vip cost could be seen as part of the cumulative value, though it's mainly something to think about.

I haven't approached valuation for pets/tech or protoss or other relative achievements such as higher void exploration or realm gate capability which grants extra resources vs non able accounts, and also translates to future potential vs those as well. Also true for how current an account is as it affects how effective it is, where as food serves only to enable you to do better in some relative future provided you can invest enough resources to become current in the multiple game modes.

I think you need to price stuff lower but have bonusses for certain combos. Someone will look at an account and expect progress on 4/5 areas.

Most of it is cummulative value
1-4 E5, 4-10 E5, 10-15 E5, 15E5
0-5,12m ( V4 ), 5/10M (3xV3) etc

1-5 P2W arts on a 15+ E5 account for example hurts the value.

For reference a VIP13 account that altared all heroes is NOT worth $200.
