**<span style="font-style: italic">I'm just paranoid. I know the OO probably won't recover the account, since It's been 10 months, but I still have my doubts. I want to do this right to minimize the risk of the character(s) being recalled and my new account banned.
</span>
I have a account that has been in my possession for over 10 months, with my contact info intact and such, and now I'm thinking about transferring.

By reading some of the guides I've came to the conclusion that the best way for me to go about transfer is by ...

1) Using only gamecards to pay for the subscription.
2) Using a pre-paid debit card to pay for the transfer.
3) Getting the old account locked/banned.

I want to know if anyone has successfully transferred a character off a old account and got the old account locked/banned while leaving the new one intact. Last I heard is Blizzard links accounts together with the same information so this could be putting my new account at risk.

yes, i have succeeded in doing this without issue multiple times over a period of 1-2 years (or i would not write the guides now, would i?)

I hate to be picky but your guide is somewhat confusing and sometimes misleading.

I'm referring to - http://www.markeedragon.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1253656#Post1253656

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">1) transfer your character off to another account with a similar last name</div></div>

Wouldn't the first and last names have to be EXACTLY the same on both accounts?

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">once this has been validated, request that they chnage the account email to an alternative email address you can access (DO NOT USE THE SAME EMAIL AS YOUR NEW ACCOUNT - as this is calling for a ban) --> get them to repeat and spell out the email address you provided.</div></div>

I don't understand this part. Are you saying both accounts should have different e-mail addresses AFTER you transfer to the new account? If both accounts had different e-mails BEFORE you transfer, wouldn't that flag the account(s)?

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">
5) now repeat this step of calling up blizzard and requested account information change 3-5 times in the next day or so. your original account will now be locked for compromisation <-- this is good.
</div></div>

Also confused here. Wouldn't both accounts get banned since they're somewhat linked together? At the top of the post you quote another guy who says ...
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">e. The banning of the first account will result in an investigation of the second account, thus resulting in both accounts banned for buying/selling/trading.
f. The locking of the first account will result in an investigation of the second account, same results apply.</div></div>

Isn't that going against what he's warning you about?

I hope you can clear some stuff up for me!
