This has been my "free to play" account for several months now. I think it's fairly strong for a starter account - no huge mistakes, no horrific investments other than 4-star gear brought up to 12+.
Some notables: Saint Nicholas, Big Un (full masteries), Skullcrusher (full masteries), Kael (full masteries), Athel (full masteries), Tayrel (full scrolls, not 6* yet), Gorgorab (full scrolls, not 6* yet), Bellower, Thenasil, Zelotah,
This account can deal around 8-11m per key on Brutal C.B. and can clear Minotaur 15 on auto. It's also managed to pass 10 in all other dungeons.
With a Strong Athel and Saint Nicholas, it also can cut through the Nightmare Campaign to 3-star, but without money, the grind for better gear is sucking the life out of me.
Overall: About $30 worth of packs should push this account near or over 1Mil power
Champions: Pretty decent roster for Legendaries and Epics as well as solid Rares like Apothecary, Kael, and Athel.
I've also got a boat load of food stored up along with a considerable amount of rares, considering this account is F2P. A lot of them have been held onto for future fusion events.
PROGRESS: I've managed to complete the vast majority of the grind-y, annoying challenges. So with a little time/effort/money you can finish these up in maybe a few days?
Same for progress missions. Other than timegates and a butt load of arena wins (currently Gold1) It's relatively smooth sailing for these as well.
BONUSES: And, as a little cherry on top - 1 Sacred Shard, 1 void, 3 ancients, and 1400 mystery shards along with several 3-5 star chickens. (a $24 value according to ChoseN's Purchase Price Calculator)
This account has everything you need to jump into the deep end of Raid without having all the work done for you. It's a solid starter account or a good secondary account for you whales out there making tons of content.
