A tangled web or am I just paranoid?

Ok,

So I'm not sure if I am just being super paranoid... or I've stumbled across some giant web of scam...

NOTE: I don't want to offend or upset anyone in case I am just completely wrong... so I have changed all names.

Anyway, after posting my thread about wanting to buy an Overwatch key... I was contacted by a seller on Skype... we'll call him "Paul"... his skypename was "SkypePaul"... following the recommendations of the EpicNPC guides, I chuck this skypename into Google...

I find a thread on EpicNPC... that has SkypePaul in it... It has a screenshot of a steam account for sale, name "Paul" (same profile pic as skypePaul)... but the EpicNPC nick is "EpicBob"... so I asked "Paul" what his nick on EpicNPC was... "I don't have one, I was just browsing the site"... (alarm bells start ringing at this point)... so I start delving into posts by "EpicBob"... and see he ALSO has threads that use the skypename "SkypeBob"... hmmm

Today, I get a message from "Brian"... skypename "SkypeBrian"... google that, find thread on EpicNPC... nick is "EpicDave" and it's banned for using VPN... but his steam profile link is also used in posts by "EpicBob"!!?!

Still with me? (Seriously, I've had to recheck all my links and stuff like 5 times to make sure I've got this right!)

I then see that "EpicBob" recently completed a trade... and received/left feedback... so I ask the guy who bought from "EpicBob" what skypename he was using... expecting to get SkypePaul or SkypeBob... turns out it was "SkypeBrian"!!?!

Anyway, this all seems sketchy as hell to me... 3 different skype accounts, 3 different EpicNPC accounts... but all somehow related...

Am I right to be suspicious? Or is this kind of stuff normal around here? I am pretty much ready to just admit defeat and save up to buy the game at retail... I can't handle the stress :P

An easy way to weed out scammers is join date, posts, feedback, reputation and if they're willing to use Trade Guardian or a reputable Middleman.

Never trade with someone who just adds you to skype. Verify their EpicNPC account first and always do research like you did in this instance. Safe trading!

Please pm me the actual epic accounts and skype accounts

80-90% of everyone who adds you is trying to scam you.
They can all be filtered out with just a few basic questions. Once you gain some rep, there will be less of them.
