Hey.

I was scammed recently but it wasn't from someone on this site, but I come here for advice as it wasnt on any forum.

Either way, the guy showed me the character ingame and he wrote all the things I told him to write, then when I sent the money (It was bank to bank and we live in the same country) he then sent me the information that I believe was suppose to be the information, but it didn't work so I asked him why it doesn't work and he say he don't know. It's my fault what happens to the account after the sale he also said. He then told me to check the email account if there was any information about this case, but the email didn't work either.

So my plan is to report this to the police, but how can I prove to the police that the information didnt work and I could not get access to it? Because as far as I know, the police doesnt care much or it's the buyers fault because he always have to be completely sure, because buying accounts is ilegall according to Blizzard themselves?

It's still internet fraud, just explain the story to them, show them chat logs, whatever they need. I know people have done this before and have been busted out of their ***.

Christopher Bouffard -- WoW Insider for example

If you moved money from say, bank a to band b via online transfer you may be luck, what I would do is ring up YOUR bank and state to them you were buying virtual goods but were ripped off and would like your money back and they should be able to recall the money from bank B (as all their money is insured anyways lol)

but if it was a cash transfer I would file the police report. But hey I would file one anyway.

FU SCAMMERS :)

It states that he had $20,000 which is alot more than I was scammed for. I was scammed for 1400 usd.

This guy showed the char ingame gave all his real info about himself, so how can I prove to a jury that the info he gave didnt work? (Note that he was not the original owner of the account) so he can say something about the original owner taking it back. I need some advices please?

I'd assume youre going to take him to small claims court. There is no jury in small claims court though there is only the magistrate of the court. And as far as proving the info didnt work im not sure how you would do that but you did approach the guy right after saying it didnt work so, you may have something there.
