Scammed by a man with aim name: JoshuaNaquin5465 need suggestions on how to get $bac

So i bought a account from this kid for 700$ (amazingly geared blood dk 389 ilvl/frost offspec 384) he showed me the account in game he seemed preety cool and all so i said once i got to know the kind of guy he was i said ill send you the 700$ western union AS SOON AS I SEND HIM THE MONEY HE SAYS "My mom just got into a car accident, ill send you the info later, she is in critical condition" i didn't ***** or anything cuz i thought his mom was actually hurt and i didn't want to make matters worse. so i wait about 26 hours i still havent heard back from him then about 3am 2 days after i gave him the money he calls from a "restricted" number saying he is not going to be home for a long time, i then call his house to find out his mom is home watching television, i then freaked out on him because for one he has 700$ of MY MONEY and is telling me bull**** lies. he told me "i have to recover the info first" and after 3 days of giving him the money i still am without an account.

I would normally call the cops in this situation but i cant since he lives in Louisianna and i live in New York because this is high way robbery.

unfortunantly i don't know what i can do at this point to get my 700$ back. can anyone give me some suggestions on how i can get my 700$ back legally?

if you get a text or call from someone with the phone number 504 315 8897 it is the scammer just hang up on him cuz he will manipulate you.

You can still involve his local police department in the matter, you two live in the same country so its not like the police have no jurisdiction to pursue a matter like this. If you know what city he lives in, call the police department and explain the situation, they will probably forward you to some detective that deals with cases of internet crimes, and then you can pursue action from there.

yea file a police report, and find out where he lives, call his mother and tell her that her kid just got reported to the police for a 700$ scam, fraud is highly punishable in the US afaik.

I'd recommend getting into contact with the dozens of people he scammed, you can start finding them in this thread:

and let them know you actually have Mark Braud/Lester/MTNDew/spriestforlock/akawowz29/i dont even remember the rest of them's real name/address/whatever else. You might find somebody that lives close enough to pop around for a chat with the local police, I know nothing of yank laws, but yeah, frauds pretty serious in most places

Also, although you may have just done the public a great service by being ****ed out of $700 by a known scammer, but getting his actual info in the process, I'd recommend searching for phone numbers + emails before sending huge payments in future, because there's been a few threads about him xD

Man, at least you're comfortable with a bunch of names, means when you pull this **** after you're no longer a minor, you won't be bothered by your cellmate calling you Mary.

Well all i can say is contact your local police department, you have the information of where you sent the money with WU ,print out your chat logs with the guy that supposedly sold you the account, you should also have the phone number on him and what not, finally contact his parents if he's under 18.
