Reseller's Threads on MMO Bay

I was wondering, what exactly is the rule these guys abide by? I sometimes see up to 7 threads on one page (of 25 listings) from the same person/reseller. The worse part is, they all claim to have highest payout, but yet won't pay more than their competitor's, etc.

Basically, the biggest annoyance of it all is, half of these guys aren't really who you're doing business with, you are directed to their website, and then you are forced to speak with people who know nothing about your thread here on MMO Bay.

The recent run-in with TheGameSupply made me furious. He has been spamming me with "WTB Your account, I'm very interested!" etc. Everytime I lower the price, he sends me a couple more messages. BUT when he only directs you to his website tgs.net .. Then I get to tgs to speak about his PM and it's the most disrespectful live chat you will ever encounter. The cockiest paper pushing nerds that you would ever imagine.

So... Do these guys abide by a certain rule? Do the mods not do their job issueing infractions? Are these annoyances WELCOME on MMOBay? They'll have like 7 threads open with almost the SAME title, but yet bump them all at the same time. Shouldn't things like these be done in one thread? I thought people like them were allowed to edit their threads later too? ( Maybe just the premium members or whatever but still, if that's the case, these resellers with thousands and thousands of posts and tons of completed transactions should be able to afford premium)

Meh.. Just wondering. Tired of seeing some of them with their BS threads and then hitting them up to find out they have no clue what they said, lmao.

Wrong forum, but I am sure it will get moved.

I can only speak for myself and for what I have seen. I push people to my site as I am mobile 75%+ more of the day and cannot see armories in detail on my iPhone. Plus, chatting is quite a pain via those for business dealings. I state very specifically on my purchase threads that you will receive a response if I am interested in your account. Most people do not read that far, but that is really not my fault or the fault of any other reseller that deals with the same kind of thing. The market, especially with WoW is very volatile and we have to account for variable change (thank you 21!).

With the multiple personalities that you are dealing with, it is hard for me to really say as I run my own operation and do not have anyone doing anything other than me. I can understand where you are coming from though and can sympathize with the misleading information that you are being given/fed.

As for the thread bumping, yes, it is annoying. I myself have done it on occasion, but that is because I just lost track of what I was bumping. There are some individuals (they know who they are), that do not honestly care as long as they get the sale. They get the same infraction over and over again with nothing but a slap on the wrist or a thread being locked which they just repost anyways.

Anyways, you are not the only that sees this and finds it particularly annoying. Maybe we should just all break the rules...introduce a little anarchy and see what happens.

We have a max limit of 5 posts per front page for any seller. Those users with more than 5 should receive infractions if they bump more than that. No one should have duplicate posts advertising the same things, if we see that we will close one thread and give the user an infraction as well.

We can't catch every violation every time as posts move pretty quick, however if we see it or it is reported they will receive a infraction.

Like KH said, it's very easy to lose track of bumps. I myself received an infraction the other day by accidently bumping 6 threads and was immediately jumped on by a mod. We are in no way above the rules here.

If Epidex is interested in getting $300 for his account, wouldn't you be better off just sending your counter offer on the spot? Something like:
"We'll buy this account for $150 in the next 24 hours. Contact us if you're interested."

Then let the CSR know your quote and reference that thread. This way you can avoid this situation of him contacting your website later and finding a CSR who doesn't have any idea about the account or maybe even a different quote because he contacted you too late.

Do you make offers based upon a forum post w/out looking at armories? And then when someone calls you a douchebag for asking for info on the account, I bet you let them come right back and ask them the same things right? I was trying to think of a solution to prevent this in the future.
Correct me if I'm wrong because I'm not a WoW account seller, but the reason you're interested in the account is what was written in that thread. So wouldn't it be possible to give a ballpark number or at least a quote in that range? Aren't you just using the WoW armory to verify the info on the thread is correct + some minor info that doesn't significantly change the account value? So maybe something like, "I can pay $200 based on what I see in your thread + possibly an additional $50 based on your armory?"

This way if the buyer wasn't interested in your $250 highest offer then you guys wouldn't have wasted each other's time.

He did give you one for the main character like you asked and you repeatedly messaged him offering to buy it also maybe you should re-read your post. It seems to me James clearly missed the point that the guy had multiple 80s and that was one of the points he was trying to make and also that he just didn't want you guys to keep bothering him.
