Question about selling Steam Wallet funds

Someone wants to sell $200 of their Steam Wallet funds. Since there's no direct way to transfer wallet funds, he suggests putting an item/trading card up in Market for him to buy. I notice the fees are quite hefty. So he would pay $200 for the trading card, I would receive $173.92 (this means $26.08 in Steam fees).

Is there a better way around this?

Unfortunately no,
Steam have very strict terms of service based on trade and distribution - they also like to put their hand in other peoples pockets - The only way you could safely get around this issue is the one you have stated above.

I think he could also gift you things you wanted.

All in all it is a dodgy game to play - If you can find an alternative to spending your money / getting items. I'd recommend avoiding this.
