We don't delete threats at request. I can permament close your account if you want but we won't delete anything.

Even if we ban you we leave the threads for everyone to see

according to the law if people ask to remove personal details you are inclined to do so. Personal details are personal and ownership of them can never be contested. So you can keep threads but personal details you canot.

We remove personal info; real names, address, phone, Facebook links and other sensitive information that someone might post. A sale thread is not considered personal info, especially when the info he's asking to be removed is posted on multiple other websites making it public info.

Another reason why we don't removed threads or posts is because many times it's a scammer asking to removed their thread so they can cover their tracks. If we removed threads by requests, it would be much more difficult for a victim to report someone.

If anyone really wants to remove a thread, they can always purchase the thread removal item in our store.

So a scammer who spends there money on removing a thread can do so but a member who does not want to purchase can not. Nice logic.

None the less in a sale thread people often leave there skype details or whatnot. These should be removed if a user asks for it.

Maybe another idee. Why not make a closed invisible part of the board where you can store these things so no one can see them except admin - sup mod? Just my 2 cent idee.

Zoefken I think you missed the point here. We don't remove threads at all. Not for anyone. We remove PERSONAL info. You know, outside life so nobody can be targeted in threats or something. It's happened outside of the internet. Say you posted your phone number, we are going to remove that. We don't need our users to be harassed. I mean, I have came across a lot of "scammers" that people will downright make sure everything about that person is thrown out there and then come to find out, the person didn't actual scam. They just had an agenda against that person. That is something we are trying to avoid. We don't want someones personal info to be thrown out there because of that. That is just 1 of the many possible reasons to do this. Removing threads is basically evidence to support a person whether guilty or innocent.

Yes but do you know the reason why someone wants to get there info removed or there thread? If someone wants it removed from the board you should either do so or move it to a place where no one can see it. I understand why you do not remove these things. But the reason why a users ask for it might be importand for him. Moving it to a invisible board for the general public might solve all your issues in one go.

You are not removing threads yourself yet someone with money can buy a thread removel from the shop? The irony in this is president i think.

But, did you even read the description for it?

It does go to a private forum. You are overly thinking things really.

When someone purchases the thread removal item to have a thread moved to a private forum, I review the users account and thread to check if they're a known scammer trying to hide something. If they are the thread is not removed.

Since someone has to purchase the item and make a Paypal payment to do it, it's highly unlikely that a scammer will go through all that trouble just to remove a thread. Normally a scammer will just create a new email, Paypal and Skype account and start over.

However I've received at least 20-30 requests over the years from scammers asking for their threads to be removed. Most likely because they're too lazy to register a new skype or email or scamming on other sites using the same info.

If someone really wants to remove a thread, the option is there for them to do that, but it's not free.

It's pretty obvious as to why it would never be entirely deleted. It's to better prevent scammers from staying ghost as well as better our community as a whole. Who wants to come to a site who let's scammers run freely? I sure as hell don't, so the rules are rules, and it's just part of the general upheaval of the site itself.

WARNING! Off-site contact information posted. Most scams occur off-site. Please contact members directly via EpicNPC chat. We do not investigate disputes if you communicate off-site.
Rules are rules is the worst reason i ever heard. If rules where rules there would be no need for lawmakers and goverments. That aside.

Sorry to say mike but asking someone to pay to click some buttons to move one of there threads is a bit over the top in my opinion. But then again i might be thinking to much. You do as you please but if i would ask you to remove all my personal details it would be faster for you to move all my threads. Just my 2 cent logic.

And we can discus as much as you want but personal details should always be editable or removable from a site in any shape or form. Ask facebook or google how they lost there law suits.

Thanks for your 2 cents.

Mine is that threads should and will continue to not be deleted.

I never said they should be deleted if one asks for it. I said it would be faster to move them to the hidden area then removing all personal details from all the posts of the user.

And i like einstein quotes but did einstein calculate that rules change?
