Paypal Dispute, how can I win?

Just sold a guy $108 worth of gold this morning via paypal. He sent the money as a gift. Now there's a dispute saying that the payment was an "unauthorized claim". What exactly does this mean? Was this person's paypal account hacked and then the guy I sold the gold to used it to pay me?

Did this person commit fraud? What will happen if I win the claim, will the money still come from this innocent person's bank account?

I don't want the money if it is indeed fraud...how can I tell?

What should I do to win my case?

it can be a few things

but first you HAVE to do the following:

contact a GM in game and tell them your account was hacked and your gold stolen - it should flag or ban BOTH accounts in question. you must then provide information to unlock it.

a) stolen paypal
b) trying to pull a fast one on you

do you have an email from the paypal account in question stating it was authorized? anything?

it would help.

please reply here and i will check it out once you do.

Unfortunately, this happened to me a couple of years ago when I was selling gamecards on eBay. I received a couple of charges back and unauthorized transaction.

I believe paypal has changed a couple of policies in the last months, and you might get your money back as there's some sort of sellers inssurance now. (It might not applies to virual goods tho).

You might want to look into that.

if the guy is trying to pull a fast one on you, then chances are on your side.

Most likely he is using a stolen paypal, and in that case you got 0 chances of winning.

Fact: Gold is the item that you have the highest chance of finding scammers, its the item that has the highest return when stolen.

Goodluck with your dispute.
