Need New System - HELP!

This is really confusing to explain thoroughly on the internet without speaking.

- Scammer contacts a person that wants to buy RP off me. Essentially meaning that the scammer is impersonating me. But the Skype name is completely different.
- Scammer contacts me telling me that he wants to buy RP.
- I tell him to post on my thread.
- I confirmed it there, he also told me to PM him on the forum (Sythe).
- The person who had posted on my thread was the customer who wanted to buy RP off me, not the scammer.
- The scammer then proceeded (pretending to be me) with the trade. Luckily the customer added me right before trade had gone through and told me the story of what he tried to do.

This would have caused a massive **** storm if the trade had gone through. Partly my fault for not taking that extra caution. I did ask him to PM me on EPvP since the real account was really trusted. He was impersonating another user (impulz.epvp). Scammers Skype was (Lmpulz.epvp) but he refused.

This would have put my rep down. I need a new system on confirming with the people I talk to. Was so close to destroying my rep.

See? Not sure if you guys even understand the story, even I'm having a hard time understanding. If you do, please help.

This is a scam that has come up a few times already in the Dispute forum. The scammer contacts both the buyer and seller, then impersonates both of them. The buyer ends ups sending payment to the seller, then the sellers gives the item to the scammer thinking it's the actual buyer.

The end result is both the buyer and seller get scammed and the scammer gets the item.

Verifying who is who is the key to stopping this scam and doesn't take a lot of extra work to stop it.

Basically you just need to check the Skype and contact the person on the forums including that Skype username in the post or PM.

For example, the buyer or seller should send a PM on Epicnpc saying,

"I'm currently talking to you on Skype with the username [skype username]. Please confirm back with your Skype username so I know I'm talking to you."

A simple check will then reveal whether or not your talking to the real user or an impostor.
