Make a new account with last name of seller

The thing is, character xfer has to have same last names. If ur buying a character from a seller u have to have the new account with the seller's(last name on old account) last name.
I guess theres a possibility that the seller could steal your account by sending his ID and claim ur account if you put the same first name and last name on your new account.
I'm not a very experienced with WoW account trading but what I think u can do is make sure u have different first name and keep every other account info to yourself. I reli doubt the seller can claim your account with just the last name on your account.

nope doesn't work. it's as simple as the OO looking at the paid character transaction, claiming to blizzard he was hacked and then having them ban your new account (so now you're down 60 dollars) and reversing the transfer. happened to me.
essentially there is no "fool proof" way to buy and keep accounts, you just have to hope that your seller isn't a [censored], which in this day and age is pretty rare.

What about getting the original account banned after the character has been transfered using an out of date hack or similar.
It's just when buying an account it's hard to put any time into it as you've always got a voice in your head saying you could log in tomorrow and it'd be gone.
Has anyone tried this?

This is a tried and true method to make a character recall-proof.
Although, it isn't 100% foolproof. Nothing is.
If the person is clever enough to know what to say to Blizzard, he can:
A. Get the account unbanned. He can say it was hacked and come up with an extremely complicated story.
B. Call Billing and recall the account.
C. Fill out an unauthorized character transfer form to reverse the transfer.
Although, if Blizzard sees suspicious things like constant information changes (email, phone number, etc.), they may decide not to unban it.
And if it does get unbanned, they may not reverse the transfer by concluding that the guy did share his account info.
It depends a lot on luck, but it can be done.
Otherwise, if the guy really doesn't know how to get an account unbanned, it's a great method to recall proof the char.
