As a longtime player and first-time seller, I am quite reasonably scared ****less by the prospect of losing my account to Blizzard or a scammer. As such, I'm devoting myself to lapping up as much information as there is to be found on this board, and I would happily appreciate any words of advice veteran sellers might have for me.

1. Is it advisable to use an anonymous WowArmory profiler, such as mywowarmory.com, and to provide a link to said anonymous profile... or would this be a security liability?

2. What steps should I take to ensure a safe and fair exchange? How can I minimize risk without putting off the buyer? And how can I protect myself in case the buyer decides to reneig on a Paypal transaction?

Thanks!

1. yes, use Mywowarmory, its anonymous.

2. Demand verification, demand an email from verified email address, and demand verbal contact via MSN voice chat, skype, or phone call.

3. Demand they do not send an echeque or direct payment via paypal. I suggest a PayPal buy now button coded onto a webpage, or using Western Union to make your payment.

If they start a convo with, can I rent your acc, block them, its not worth the typing hassle.

Google Checkout is better than Paypal; however, it isn't as widely accepted.

1. Armory usually doesn't compromise an account's security. However, if it makes you feel better, just use an anonymous armory as Xtr3me dictated.

2. If you can, deliver something physical and mail it to the seller or request an echeck if you're using paypal.

Should you have your account "scammed," be sure to have information on hand so you can call blizzard

and reclaim your account.

One last question. How much safer is it for me to demand payment via echeck? Will they still be able to cancel their payment after the echeck has arrived at my Paypal account?

Tip #1) Don't trust anyone.

You need to feel secure & safe with the person your talking to. Typically people that try to rush a deal are not people that I want to do business with. If you feel uneasy about someone, just cancel the trade and move on.

Once again, what securities do I have from fraud by using an echeck? </div></div>

wait till the echeck CLEARS and IN your bank before giving out all information on the account. it is safe to give them the username and password seeing they cannot take control of the account with the said information.
