Is plagiarizing profile information/thread template allowed on EpicNPC?

I hate when people copied my account information or thread template. That's why I wish EpicNPC have "block" option so other seller can't see my profile information anymore.

This guy copied my profile information, so 99% it's very similar.

He copied almost everything.

And it's my original profile information.

I hate when these sellers has no brain and creativity. I hope EpicNPC give them punishment or delete their account information.

Generally, we don't have rules against this. Unless it's a 1:1 blatant copy or things like image assets stolen, we don't take action.

I have deleted it in this case, since it's almost 1:1 and because of his "300 perfect feedback" claim that is false (he has less and it's not perfect).

Well he edited it, but now it's 50% similar. Cause he's still using some of my original words.

We will only take action on direct copies or very close 95%+ if we had to add a number. No one owns thread templates and most users will look at other threads to get an idea of how to layout theirs. Also if the user steals another members images that they created we will take action against that.

I'm sorry that this happened to you, plagiarism is something scammers will resort to unfortunately to up the ante to make a mock of a well reputable source such as yourself @AbbeyDawn, It's a weak attempt to pull in more potential victims but there is a a way to fix it, You'll see me sounding like a broken record through-out the forums saying this but getting a couple programmers could easily make a script that could make it very possible that a scammer could never copy and paste you're glorious well thought out bio's and steal them for themselves! Below I will post some solutions and work around this I'd gladly give my input and you guys don't feel shy to jump in and brainstorm along!

Impersonating someone begins with copying details about them so an unknowing victim can be tricked into believing it's you, correct?

Well Epic Npc is starting to become more known as the years go by so that means more friendly faces but more scammers as well

GenesisGir's feature suggestions​

- create a friend list feature (Only friends can if invite accepted)
- create a script that prohibits non-friends to copy community members biography (Or an option to disable Bio Copying possible)
These are very important I may add because not only is it a layer that the scammer has to deal with but adding a friends list feature will create a sense of a community and everyone will know you are who you say you are because once you create a friends list, you create an adding system and once you have said friends list feature nobody can take you're name if well reputable sellers/buyers have each other added already and this will make it more easy to spot potential fake accounts, because if you have a friend added already you know an account is fake if it has no reputable friends on their list making them stand out as scammers, Badabing Badaboom get exposed.

So many ideas but again we need driven passionate community users to come along and together not just mods and admins, the moderators are doing their part as much as they can but so should we.
I'm sorry that someone used you're name in a malice situation @AbbeyDawn and I'm sure by the looks of it things were resolved for the most part, So I'm happy for you!

I've provided so things you could do whilst this system isn't in place just yet.
- If you spot a scammer using you're name in vein, point them out for the community and place them front in center so mods can do their job!
- Alert you're current buyers that a potential scammer is using you're name and link their fake profile on you'res (make a list of fake profiles because scammers wouldn't do this there too lazy)
- Report the fake impersonator next time the moment you catch them doing this, do not wait!
- Periodically change you're bio everyday! You're buyers will notice this behavior and deem it as a way YOU protect yourself from fakes! (This can be a script btw but don't write you're own. Leave this up to the programmers of Epic Npc)

Im sorry if you feel offended or angry at me for taking inspiration from your post and i have changed it to looks more personalized, but no one owns "templates" and there are no rules against taking inspiration from other posts, plagiarizing is something scammers do and i dont think you understand the full meaning of plagiarize and would be a completly different case because i am not taking your accounts and selling them. Even if there were no rules, doesn't mean copying/plagiarizing other people works is legal.

Words or template is very important for a seller/sales. I've been changing it a lot, perfected it, find the right and effective ways to demonstrate the things I sell, just to get stolen by some uncreative and uneducated sellers (and as you can see you're not the only one who did it).

Of course I got offended and felt scammed. It took months, even years for me to find the right formulas. And new seller just picked the easiest way to benefiting themselves.
