Inactive usernames

What is the policy to get inactive usernames? Currently, with the name change system, you can only get names which are available.

I've changed my name twice already but never really got the name that I wanted.

Maybe the ability to use an inactive username could be purchased with credits, that'd serve as a nice sink for them.

I feel it really sucks that some people make accounts with cool names and never post/log on them ever again.

If someone never used their account and has been inactive for many years, we can give you that username. So it depends on the name you want.
