How to check if user is using a proxy?

Not Recently Bumped
Sometimes hostname gives it away, but not always. Sometimes location as well. Some times easier to ask one of us to check. I don't mind doing it if you are suspicious of someone. Better safe then sorry.

Yes but how does the host name give it away . . .

That's what I'm asking.

The Location Info gives you the network the person is using. The domain name is the important part. Copy/paste the URL to your address bar and go to that website.

If you see a web hosting website that means it's a proxy/VPN. If it's a domain that does not exist, there's also a 99.9% chance it's a proxy/VPN. In very rare cases it's a small ISP that uses an alternate domain that isn't used as a website. I normally check the domain by doing a whois lookup and you can tell then who owns the domain. If the whois is private it's a proxy.

Normal ISPs like Comcast, Verizon, TimeWarner all have internet plans posted on their sites, even the smaller lesser known ISPs so you can easily see they are an internet provider.
