I sold a game time card to a customer yesterday. To be honest , I thought he is suspicious cuz he asked for the game time card really in a haste, i checked his IP(asked him to provide) its from Switzerland but he told me his billing address is in UK and told me an specific billing address. I do not trust him cuz the difference between his IP and billing address. So i asked him to send the money with gift via paypal. He did that and i checked the money , it was sent with gift via paypal, and also i still think he is suspicious because of the IP thing, so i asked where did he find our site ,he said google which key words"epic power leveling", I... wt..How come he types "epic power leveling" to find a gametime site. So i refused to send the key and told him that i would refund him. After that, he said his paypal was verified and he is the owner of his paypal account , what's more he sent the money with gift so the money is like 200% safe. I did think it over about this. As to my knowledge, one can not get money back with gift , and its verified paypal account , which made me send him the key is that he sent me a screenshot for his paypal account , i did see its verified and such. However the thing is , he filed an unauthorized use of paypal right after i sent him the key.
I know i am just a little bit foolish for failing for this. But can any body tell me if i can get the money back by the paypal's judgement?! Thanks.

Show them any logs that show the transfer of the key for the payment as it is an actual good that you are selling. However, I'm not entirely sure how valid it is since it may be considered "intangible" as a digital code. I think you were the victim of a stolen PayPal account which can be investigated by PayPal, and I'm sure that they can retrieve the funds even if sent as a gift. Next time someone claims to be PayPal verified, ask them for an e-mail sent from their paypal verified e-mail address. While they have access to the PayPal account, they might not have the access to the e-mail associated.

Not only that, but unauthorized uses are completely stupid to file with paypal because they check IP connections when transactions where being made and compare them to others and when the account was made.

Just do what TJP said and you should be fine, you can also call blizzard about the time code if you have it scanned and tell them it's not working and they'll close the account if you prove you're the legit owner of the card.

Too much good or bad memories when thinking about the start of the business. It has been so many years ,tired but very free. Appreciate life and everything!

I had this experience few months ago, he sent the money using friends and family in paypal then after the powerlevel he did an unauthorized claim, paypal requested to hear my side of the story so I uploaded the chat logs from skype, less than 1 day I received the money back.

Fortunately, he paid with his paypal account or cc, if not, we lose the case 100%.

Provide every chat log you have to them. You can win the dispute easily by providing simple proof. If he used his CC and chargebacked through bank, there's nothing you can do.
