A friend recently sold an account to which he was not the OO (but had all the info) to a scammer who recalled his money in paypal due to "unauthorized funds" and then i guess rented it out or somehow got it perma banned. We called blizzard and are now trying to convince them that the account was hacked while he was away but they now require him to fax in his ID to prove ownership.
Has anyone tried faxing in a copy of the OO's ID before? Like is this possible? How far do they check into whether or not you actually own the ID or if it's real?
I mean if they just glance over it like at liquor stores I can see it as still feasible to retrieve the account but i was wondering if anyone knew if they go into some kind of government scan [censored], matching up phone numbers etc.
