What is the dispute about?
- based on the s1ncer's post, he claimed that he is the original owner. However, the account was recalled on 1 Aug 2021 (email that was bound to account was changed) and I thought it was hacked because I was unaware of account retrieval back then.
- s1ncer gave me some details and screenshots of receipts to aid me in account retrieval, and after a month of waiting, mihoyo DID approve the account retrieval that was sent by me on 28 Aug 2021, using the information provided by s1ncer.
- however, the REAL ORIGINAL OWNER of the account contacted me in-game on 5 Sep, talked to me in traditional chinese (he is a taiwanese, and i'm a taiwanese too so i know how taiwanese should sound online), and informed me that his entire gmail account was hacked, and that's why he lost his genshin account. he immediately secured his gmail account again, and submitted account retrieval request to mihoyo, of which mihoyo approved on 1 Aug, which is the day i got 'hacked'.
- original owner said he has submitted another retrieval request, and true enough the account is now back to him again.
Other details / notes:
- s1ncer has repeatedly confirmed that he is the original owner, but it's clear that he isn't because the payment receipts were all in traditional chinese and Google Play Points were rewarded, meaning it was based in taiwan.
- s1ncer was unable to provide more screenshots of receipts when i requested, claiming that he has lost them. he eventually disappeared when i shared with him how to check for receipts via pay.google.com
- s1ncer does NOT have access to the email that was used to create the genshin account, but the original owner was able to send me an email using that account to prove that he was the original owner
