Blizzard getting serious about account sharing, How it affects buyers?

I've noticed that 24 hour bans are being issued more frequently for account-sharing, my guess is by monitoring IPs and if an account gets logged in from the same IP as another unrelated account, a flag goes up.

I wonder if this will also affect account buyers?
As I already play wow, but buy a new account and start logging into it from the same IP as I currently use.

And I also remember reading about him playing a warrior. Such a high profile player publicly displaying account sharing was bound to get some attention.

Blizzard definitely tracks IP's, but the reason Blizzard took the extra effort to suspend him is because he was playing another character and *arenaing* with it, meaning he was gaining points for the original account holder, which Blizzard felt was exploitive to the arena system.

There should be no issues at all with buyers. If Blizzard started to crack down on account sharing, I guarantee there would be a huge outcry from the raiding guilds - even my own guild has people swap and log onto fellow guild member's characters for M'uru / KJ so that we have a desirable raid composition.

Agreed. Everyone shares their account from time to time. If you're not allowing fellow guild members to log on for progression raids, it's your next door neighbor or one of your siblings that have access.

I agree with this topic. Blizzard shouldn't be so hard on account sharing.

Serious raiders who share their accounts for guild progression should greatly be taken into consideration.

Loosen up a bit, Blizz.
