Account transaction in real life

If I buy an account from someone through cash transaction in real life, probably at a netcafe so the account changes can be made there.

Advantages:
Have their phone no, know how they look
Can have them log into the game to see the character(s)
Can verify their real name
Change the account email/phone number and see them verify the change

Disadvantages:
No method of recalling cash if they do somehow manage to recall the account

Now I did read the guide to prevent "unauthorized transfer" but what if I take several days to get the character off the account.

But what other precautions could I take?

Thanks

get them to include a scanned / photocopy of their NOTARIZED government issue identification (ID) and verfiy that it matches the registered account name. this way, even if he recalls and engages in a dispute you are both stuck proving ownership : )

on the other hand, make sure you verify and get his actual address, landline number (reverse lookup these), full name etc... so you can follow up with local law enforcement : ) obviously, get a photo too : )

good luck.

as another afterthought, remember to verify the notary (that the chop was not generated / scanned). although it is a federal offense to falsify it, it is quite common...

usually when you take and verify the person to such a degree, they know they are better off not recalling and the headache or legal stuff will get to them : )

that said, most people who are willing to subject themselves to such a verification in real life i doubt are scammers... (it is a lot easier to hide online than in real life with a positive ID)

feel free to email me if you need help.

just had another brain singe (sorry : ) )

seeing that blizzard blanks out the last name on the account management page for "registered user", make sure to call up blizzard account management hotline (number is under their support forum / page) and verifiy that the last name is indeed the correct one. <-- do this on the spot with the person.

match the address given on the wow account to the one he gave you - he they are different, get a valid reason from the seller "why would you not having matching addresses"

also verify the address you gave was correct (lookup the full name provided on the ID through yellow / white pages or other service) --> this allows you to check if the name / number and address match (prevents falsification)

finally, if the account was paid for using a credit card (blizzard will show the number with **** blanked out details) get him to show you it in real life and again, match the name to the account.

enough wall of texting from me : ) luck.
i know this is a lot to go through for an account, but hey, better safe than sorry.

Thanks for the pointers, the seller preferred we do the transaction in real life, which is why I wondered about the possible problems I might have.

But as you pointed out, if the seller is willing to subject to the real life verifications, and for the seller's protection, I can't recall cash, it should be safer for both sides.

Hopefully things work out nicely.
