I've been wanting to sell a WoW account of mine as suggested by my fiance. I stumbled across MD here, and was wondering what is the safest way to go about selling an account? What do you all suggest personally? What are you comfortable with?

There's alot of scammers on this website. Be careful.

Best thing's to do.

1) Make sure they have a MD account.
2) Check their rep.
3)Do a phone conversation.
4) Check to make sure that the name on the paypal matche's the name the phone is registed to.

Personally, if kathunx is still around and buying account's sell it to him he's a great guy.

Also, if they are pushy chance's are they are just looking for a quick scam.

Don't tell them your not experienced in trading or they could possibly take full advantage of it.

Read the sticky about safe trading.

Try searching their contact information on google. See if anything negative come's back. Like me, if you search my name you will see i write scam guide's on [censored].

And most important don't get in a hurry to get rid of your account.

Ok. Thanks a ton. It's not an amazing account or anything, but it's nice. Have a baby on the way so the money could really help out lol. I'll take my time though. Thanks for all of the tips.
 
Paypal is the worst way to do it. But right now, it's basically all you can do. Maybe try finding somebody in your area and taking cash for it.

I don't know what to tell you. But yes, paypal is really bad to use. I use it anyways.

Read around these forum's before you trade. Talk to a few people, and also go read up on scam guide's.

Why? Am i telling you to scam? No, it's the best way to keep yourself safe.
 
Thank you. =). OH! One more thing! The Trust Who thing I've seen around the site, will people trade with me if I don't have it? I could get it I suppose, but it'd be kinda frustrating to pay for that when I'd only really use it once.
 
Well, it will help people to trust you. It's not going to help you stay away from scam proof. But i would get it if you have the 7.50$ to waste. I hear it's a pain in the [censored] to get verified and they are picky.

So your answer.

Yes, more legit people will offer to buy you're account if you have Trust Who Verification.

Also, make sure you don't fall victim of a imposture.

Meaning? Well somebody message's you saying Oh Im "John Doe"

You: Can i see your rep page?

Scammer: Oh sure here its. ...................

Scammer: My screen name is in my signature so you can confirm it's me.

Alway's make people send you a private message or post somewhere that you want them to with a message you choose.

And remember, even people with reputation like Xtrader's can decide to scam somebody at anytime.
