Bluehole released a new update in PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUND where “flare guns” are added to the custom games. Here’s everything you need to know about PUBG flare guns - where to find it, how to use it, as well as the conditions in using it.
PUBG Flare Gun: What Does It Do?
Flare guns in real life is used to launch flares in the sky to signal support or help. Im PUBG, flare guns are used to call air drops. This gun goes into your pistol slot. When being launched into the sky, the loot drop from the airplane will fall into the area. The airdrops, however, are different from the regular airdrops in the game - they contain double amounts (e.g. AWM+AUG and other goodies like level 3 items, adrenaline syringe, scopes, etc).
PUBG Flare Gun Locations
Flare guns are only available in custom games. It’s not out in the normal games yet. Based on few experiments made by streamers, there are 10 flare guns in a game but not all of them will spawn. The flare guns could spawn in any of these ten locations:
The guns are not very hard to spot. For example, in the Shooting Range, you can easily find it on top of the boxes in the target practice area. In the Military Base, the flare gun is located on top of the scaffolding or what others call the billboard. For the outskirt areas like the compound near Severny and Yasnaya Polyana, the flare guns sits on top of the patio tables. In Zharki area, you can find it on the terrace of the house next to the lighthouse. The flare gun in the school spawns around the swimming pool area.
Usage Conditions
There are rules in using the flare gun in the game. First, there should only be one flare active at a time. Players cannot shoot flare guns while the other flare is active. The plane will deliver the loot to which player has shot the gun first. Second, you can only use the flare gun inside the safe zone (the circle). If you shoot the flare outside the circle, the loot will not be dropped. Also, you must aim directly up into the air when firing the gun. Shooting at a lower angle will not call in an air support.
Many are wondering if the flare guns can be used as a weapon to eliminate enemy player. The answer is no. The flare gun does not cause damage into a player. When being shot into someone, the flare just bounce off and is very harmless.
