why are you guys using proxy again?

Proxy servers are all blocked where I work. This isn't a proxy server unless somewhere in between it reroutes through a proxy or something. I do work for a school system which has 70+ schools, perhaps it goes through the central office network on the way out or something? Not sure what is going on, don't know much about networking stuff, just a hardware guy.
