CUSTOMER REVIEWS/QUESTIONS
Not offering account recovery/lock support post account sale is implicitly unsafe.

If you think a seller offering “recovery support” after sale is safer, you’ve got it backwards.

This is Old School RuneScape the ONLY truly safe deal is one where the seller has zero control after transfer. I provide full original details, you change everything, and that’s it. Clean break.

Once it’s transferred, anything like locks or flags comes from Jagex systems (IP change, new device, unusual activity). That has nothing to do with me and is completely out of my hands.

Sellers who promise “support” after sale are the risky ones because they still have a link to the account. I don’t.
R
That's not how Jagex approaches recovery. It's not about links other than the original owner having the exact same computer the account was created on. You can never ensure you have control over an account you have not created yourself because of this. You could have every other piece of recovery, but if Jagex sees an attempted recovery from the literal hardware the account was created on, they will immediately lock the account and either return it to the original owner or keep it locked and permanently ban it for account trading. Anyone who has any credibility in the OSRS account selling space and is trading in good faith will tell you that ANY account is recoverable for this exact reason, and thus most account trading regarding OSRS is hedged on "recovery and lock support" by the original owner who made the account.

Once it’s transferred, anything like locks or flags comes from Jagex systems (IP change, new device, unusual activity).
Also, it is precisely because Jagex locks and flags accounts they deem suspicious (IP changes, new hardware/devices, unusual activity such as email changes and Jagex account changes) that buyers should only buy accounts from people who promise to help unlock accounts after sale. On other big name forums, it's usually a month at minimum and defaulted to 2 years. On EpicNPC, I don't believe there's a standard/policy in place.
That has nothing to do with me and is completely out of my hands.
I'd argue it's completely within your hands IF you are the original owner. I would argue that if you're not the original owner, you cannot sell an account in good faith without any recourse for a potential buyer if the account is locked and you cannot prove to Jagex that you are the original owner.
M
You’re proving my point without realising it.

This is exactly how Old School RuneScape works ANY account can be recovered by the original owner, which is why no legitimate seller should ever promise “recovery support” after sale.

If a seller can help you recover it later, that means they still have access or leverage over the account which is the actual risk.

I’m not the original creator, and I’m not pretending to be. I’m selling with full transparency:
• Full details provided
• You secure the account yourself
• Clean break no backdoor access from me

What you’re describing (original owner recovery) is a risk in every single OSRS account sale, not something a seller can control or “fix” after the fact.

And let’s be real no seller can override Jagex decisions. Once they lock an account, no amount of “support” from a seller changes that.

That’s exactly why I offer Trade Guardian+ so the buyer verifies everything before funds are released.

If you want guarantees against original owner recovery, then account trading isn’t for you because that risk exists across the entire market.

Hi, I'm glad we can agree that any account can be recovered by the original owner. Many bad faith sellers will never admit that, so it shows you're not completely disingenuous and I appreciate that.

I disagree that if a seller can help you recover it, it means they have leverage over your account. I'm arguing that any seller has no effective leverage over the account if they are not the original owner. A seller can control this IF they are the original owner. Your original post says "no restrictions or prior ownership issues" which, to me, implies you are the original owner. I think that could be cleared up if you simply led with something along the lines of "NOT ORIGINAL OWNER".

You're wrong in that a seller CAN override Jagex locking IF they deem the person is the original owner. If the original owner is the seller, they can easily do so. I believe what you mean is a RESELLER cannot override Jagex locking, which I agree is generally and mostly true.

There is definitely a strong market for original owner support in OSRS. That is readily apparent to anyone who has been active in the space, frankly, in the past 10-15 years.

Anyways, to stay on topic with your original post, I think it just needs further clarification as to whether or not you are the original owner, which you have explained you are not.
M
Fair points and I’ll clarify it properly so there’s no confusion.

I am NOT the original owner of this Old School RuneScape account, and I’m not advertising it as such. I’ll update the post to make that clearer.

That said, this is exactly why my stance is what it is:

• As a reseller, I have zero ability to recover or override anything with Jagex
• Once transferred, the account is entirely in the buyer’s control
• Any recovery risk from the original owner exists regardless of seller that’s just the nature of the market
• This account was acquired directly from the original owner and has been stable with no recovery attempts or issues, giving strong confidence in its security

I agree with you that original owner accounts with support carry a premium, but this isn’t being sold as one of those, and it’s priced accordingly.

For buyers who still want security, I offer Trade Guardian+, so everything is verified before funds are released.

Appreciate the discussion 👍
