What RAM to buy for laptop?

Hey guys,
I want to upgrade my RAM from 4GB to 8GB, I'm looking for a 2x4GB module, but I'm not 100% sure which one is compatible with my laptop.
How can I know? I mean, is there some site that checks your hardware and tells you what kind of RAM is compatible with your system?

Usually the manufacturer website has the specifications, but any ram should do. Just make sure that u get the DDR right, newer laptops use DDR3 ram and older ones use DDR2.

You need to check your laptop spec's to make sure you get the right type (DDR3/DD2), the right speed (1333/1600/2100/etc) and you need to make sure its laptop RAM.

check the existing one that is in your laptop and try to buy a same brand if possible

Your manufacturer will have the specifications on its website for what type of RAM you have already in the computer. Just purchase the same type, but with more GB.
