Hi,
I'm trying to upgrade my computer for cataclysm, but can only upgrade 1 thing at a time.
What is more important for playing WoW now?

Video Card
Ram
Other???

please help!

Thank you.

Depends on your current specs so list those.

CPU
WoW does depend quite alot on the CPU. If your motherboard is compatible with socket 1366 CPU's (I7's) then the I7 950 has had its price reduced and is a very good processor. You should grab the 950 over the 930 since the prices are pretty much the same. You'll want to also grab an after market cooler for these things as If you want the most out of the CPU you might want to learn about overclocking if you dont already. These I7's can easily reach 4.0ghz with a good heatsink on them which is more than enough for any game. You need to keep in mind that you can buy the most expensive graphics card, lets say the GTX 580 but it doesn't mean it's going to be the best or infact perform the best because if you have a crappy CPU this will bottleneck your performance. If you want to know about some of the best heatsinks if you do get a new CPU then I can recommend you some as Iv'e managed to reach 4.2Ghz with low temps on mine without watercooling.

I7950: Newegg.com - Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor BX80601950

Graphics Cards
I've tested alot of graphics cards. I have yet unable to test the GTX 580 so I can't speak for that. Let me just tell you something, unless you have a watercooled system don't touch a GTX 480 with a barge pole as the temps on them are disgusting on air with load. The best bang for your buck will be with the GTX 460's as they are cheap, more or less silent and they are so so so easy to overclock. Before the release of the GTX 580 having two GTX 460's overclocked would outperform an 480. Even one GTX 460 will be enough for what you need, just make sure you buy the 1GB model. Other people like going with the ATI cards but I've been a firm followers of Nvidia simply because my personal opinion is that they have way way better drivers for the GPU's. If you do decide to go with a GTX 460, stay away from EVGA Superclocked EE model as there has been a large batch of these that are faulty and tend to overheat so youll only end up probably RMA it. A very goo make for this card is MSI, and whichever card you do decide to get, grab MSI afterburner to set up a custom profile to lower your temps on your card and to possibly overclock. Now the only problem with grabbing GTX 460 as you will only ever be able to SLI two of these cards, Nvidia stopped having these cards having more in SLI because of protecting their high end price cards because this alternative way would be cheaper. (Again any information on this I can help.)

RAM
RAM is pretty much standard, Most games will require you to run 4GB now, In my opinion youll want to grab 6GB and have a 64bit OS so you can utilize it. The reason for this is with the 6GB RAM you can run tri channel memory. Anything above 6GB right now is overkill and yourjust burning money. But 4GB will still do the job. It's just not all about how much RAM either, it also depends on the Mhz the RAM runs at. You also dont want to jump into the 2000 Mhz RAM just because its expensive and it looks the fastest. RAM can be overclocked and sometimes you may have to underclock the RAM so that it works well with the CPU. If anything I've found that most Corsair RAM easpically the Dominator RAM gives you alot of head space and is fast RAM. You can overclock the Mhz and the timings on this RAM aswell.

Corsair Dominator 6GB: Corsair Dominator 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Triple Channel Kit (CMP6GX3M3A1600C8) [CMP6GX3M3A1600C8]

Last two things i will say is, Make sure your powersupply has enough power to maintain these new components that you are installing and make sure if you are on air cooling that you have a good air flow. Espically when overclocking the CPU, youll need to get the hot air blown out of the case. If you need any help or anymore recommendations, Iv'e tried alot of hardware and I know quiet abit so please don't hesitate at all. I will help out where ever I can.

I7'S are pretty over priced than AMD, There are however quite afew differences but I think it all comes down to personal preference and how much someone is willing to spend. The AMD will do the job but the I7's are just so much more future proof. Anyway, no one can recommend this guy any CPU yet until we find out what socket hes on.

For the CPU's anyway it really doesn't matter which manufactuer you bat for. i will say though there has been alot of screw ups with some ATI drivers, however quite afew ATI cards do run more quiet and consume less power than their rival. Nvidia do have alot better drivers and support though hands down.
