First off, lemme start by saying, I'm a cop. With that being said... let's continue.
I'm sorry if this is in the wrong forum but I've just become a member to this site. Anyway, I had a brush with a lady this morning who was up for a trade. Contacted me through MSN Messenger. The email was xxxpraetorianxxx or some such non-sense. We swapped phone numbers and I called her up. I gave her the account name then asked for her account name before handing over the pass. She gives me a line about hold on a sec someone's at the door. Comes back, then asks for the password.
I'm like, whoa there, what's your account name? Remember step by step? And She's says, "I'm not stupid, hand over the info first and then I'll hand over mine." So I did what any sensible cop would do:
"I'm sorry, but is this Mrs. 'xxx' who's husband is Mr. 'xxx' current resident of 'xxxx' Hiawatha Dr. Wonderlake, Illinois 60097?"
She promptly hung up the phone.
To everyone out there, beware someone who tries to pull this on you. To those interested she seemed to be a woman in her early to mid 30's. Hispanic/Latin American with a slight drawl to her speech.
She contacted me directly through Messenger so no clue what her account name might be on these boards. And as a warning to potential or current scammers who might visit this, or similar sites:
Becareful who you try to scam. Some of us can bite back... and some much harder then others.
