I would make a comparison between various options for Antivirus software if I were you, then decide the best suit your need. I tried Bitdefender accordingly to a recommendation but turned out it didn't work for me. So you should have your own judgment I would say.

Don't trust Windows Defender. Kaspersky as an company has some really good vulnerabilities discoveries but earlier this year there was some drama about them providing information to China (Or Russia, I don't remember crearly)

I'd say go for any famour Anti Virus, like AVG, Kaspersky or Avast!, and also learn how to set up a solid firewall rule set. You can't never be protected enough!

Norton Secuirty has a great detection rate and is less intrusive in my opinion then avast. I’ve been a user of Norton for two years and I can definitely say you won’t be disappointed. Although, it is a resource hogger, I don’t mind giving up a bit of resources for online security.

As someone mentioned here earlier, I have no av for years now. I just use win firewall and defender. Combined with some basic free or cheap addons, it provides a pretty good defense. But I think you will have to be more careful on what you visit or click on. If you know what you're doing, this should be enough really.

Iv Always used Norton or Malware bytes. Avoid McAfee somewhat slowed down my computer last time I used it!
