So for a couple months I have been have computer issues, on my main.
specs not major important but ill give some.
Asus Rog motherboard crosshair v formula, amd fx8350, 32 gb ram. geforce gtx 970.

Started a major crash and would not come back on. then would boot but no video. the 970 is only 6 months old. So I disconected port i was running monitor on and it works in a different port. Okay. Though i can make this work for a while.

Now I get random shut off. everything just litterally shuts off.

Other times is I get a crash dump blue screen of death.

I thought with the card and random shut off a possible bad power supply. (not sure if card is damaged now)

But the error crash dumps do not make sense with a power supply.

any ideas?

Did you write down any codes shown during BSOD? If you haven't already used BlueScreenView or any alternative programs you should figure out if the BSOD is caused by the same thing or it is different every time. Your hardware might be fine and theses BSOD's could be caused by some system/hardware driver missing or acting up.
With my previous PC setup i had a faulty RAM that was causing BSOD's even tho it bypassed memtest. I troubleshooted the RAM's by removing them 1 by 1 and tried different DIMM slots on the mobo ( my first guess was 1 of the DIMM's was acting up on the mobo ). Eventually found that i didn't BSOD at all by removing 1 of the RAM sticks.
BSOD's can often be annoying to troubleshoot, but see if BlueScreenView shows you the error code and then try google'ing it.

Try WhoCrashed, it will give you more info on what is causing the bsods.
Most likely faulty drivers or ram sticks.

okay I will try that thanks. Come to conclusion using a computer, that my child no longer wants since she got a laptop, that the monitor **** the bed so Video card is okay.

This sounds like a potential heat issue or unstable overclock.
Is the CPU overclocked?
If so, how much? and how was it overclocked?
What type of CPU and GPU cooling do you have?

they are quite alot of possibility for crashing and bsod randomly,

1. its totally memory related for bsod.
2. it might your motherboard defected which cause the memory unable to work normally.
3. there are possibility on your power supply as well that makes your motherboard unable to work normally.

you can try to remove memory stick and clean up the slot first, and using only 1 stick in 1 slot to find out if the memory was the problem, if nothing happen which mean you dont have any problem with your ram stick, try to use 1 stick to another slot you will found the problematic slot by this.
if on the first try you already gettting a random bsod from both stick mean your motherboard or power supply might have a problem
if only 1 stick have a problem, then that stick was the source of your problem.
