I recently started doing coding courses, I am looking for opinions on which course I should take next. I have already completed HTML and I am halfway through CSS. I've seen that JS is really popular but not sure if I want to go into that or something like Python.

If you want to focus on languages that are heaveliy used in Web Developement, I can recommend trying PHP and if you feel comfortable with that starting with JavaScript.
That worked for me back then. JavaScript is also used sometimes for other stuff, in mobile game developement for example. Combine that with the common use in web developement and I think you have a language more useful to learn than pyhton.

idle Thanks for the recommendation. I am looking more into Web Development and not so much mobile things. I eventually want to reach the point of building a customized website.

Try this course: https://www.udemy.com/complete-web-development-course/

It is very large and it will give you good basic knowledge of all the popular languages and technologies used in web development (HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Javascript, jQuery, PHP, Mysql). Some lectures focus on the language, while others on making projects using those languages. This is what I recommend to all my friends who want to start learning web development and the feedback is very positive. :)

The Integrity I will definitely check it out as soon as I finish up everything over on https://www.freecodecamp.org I am nearly done with the CSS course and have already finished the HTML course. I was actually a bit surprised at how fast it is to pick up, I think the more confusing bit is learning what path to follow after those. Thanks for the recommendation and I'll definitely check it out as more practice will go a long ways.

I'd recommend Python, it takes less time to get to the point where you can do something "useful" in Python compared to other languages, so it (and Java) are commonly taught in college courses. That's also why it's commonly used for scripts in games, etc.

@The Integrity I have finally found the time to get around to starting the course you recommended. So far it has been very useful and has a lot better structure then just looking for information myself. I am redoing my HTML and CSS courses right now as a little refresher will help out a lot. Hopefully by the end of it I'll be making full websites lol. Thanks for the recommendation.

Yeah, so far I have only finished up all the front-end courses. I still have to go back and do the backend courses so right now building a full website still is out of reach and it still gets confusing. @PikGTASeller

second year of college as a computer science major and i'm still dumb lol.

3rd year here, still dumb as hell and mostly only learning algorithms and all the math **** which are not very interesting to me. Next year i will be doing the web development and mobile courses, will be fun :)

It really depends on what you're aiming for. You must have the idea on what you want to do by learning coding else you will get nowhere no matter how much time you spend studying.

I am just working on Python in my free time. I will be using it later for cyber security/ethical hacking.
