From the pictures of the mobo it looks like the heat sinks on it might be blocking the card,I had this problem once while trying to install a 285 on a customers pc... hard to say with the photo angles though... Case seems pretty small for that card as well. As for compatibility it all seems fine.

Honestly, Newegg has some awesome packages right now that come with the mobo/processor and other things. I'd grab one of those, a sweet case, and whatever else is needed. The pre-made packages aren't very expensive either.

The most important thing you can do is remember to first install the power supply, then plug it in.
This provides grounding.
From there, use a grounding wrist strap so that when you touch RAM or any chip with your hands, you don't fry the internal circuitry.
Don't even take a single card out of it's static shielded bag if you don't have that wrist strap on, and connected to something that is grounded.
And of course, ground the bags as often as possible. Touching your computer case with a bare hand, while it is grounded, can also ground you, but a strap is something that will keep you from accidentally forgetting to stay grounded at all times.

Proper installation adds years to the life of a system.

What's your budget? A lot of power can be had for pretty little, I built an i5 with $800, it's great. That said, for your graphics card, go for the 5770 for only a few bucks more, more power and DX11 support. For your case, check out the HAF 922, it costs about the same, and is a much better case. For a little mroe you can get the HAF 932, which is a full tower and a dream to work in. Other than that, looks pretty good. New AMD hex cores just came out, cheapest at only 250 and is compatible with your mobo, so maybe check those out if your going to be doing a lot of multi-threaded work. But be ready to overclock because on benchs, it looks like the stock frequency hinders graphical performance at a point.
