Hello everyone.
I started Masked Armory 11 years ago and never did I imagine it would catch on like it has. The site has over a million profiles created in its lifespan, which is quite a few for a website that only supports one game and the black market of that game (buying/selling/trading accounts).
Anyways, today I have launched a UI/UX and technology revamp to allow for further expansion into new content that will be released with Battle for Azeroth.
The entire application is written with a Vue.js 2 frontend (yes, it is an SPA -- single page application) and a Node.js backend, with MongoDB being used for the DB. It was and always been a labor of love for me, given that I have coded this site and maintained it since its inception!
The features you can see:
- Flag representation for your countries to give the frontpage a bit more life.
- Server lists are now shown on a per-region basis. No more combination of both EU and US servers in the same autocomplete.
- A side navigation on the armory page to allow for more height allotment to the actual page content.
- There will be an overall speed increase in page viewing as well, given the new frontend framework and a lot of code refactoring to ensure a small build footprint on the server.
There is one change you cannot see, but it is important to note and that is that the server lists and achievements will now be kept up to date every run via an automated task. I have always been too busy to write these tasks and had to do the data management manually, so I am glad to have been able to get that done now!
I hope you all enjoy the changes and thank you for your continued use/support of Masked Armory!
