Just want to warn people that g2g is runned by people protecting scammer

someone stole fund from my paypal to buy "Orb" in Path Of Exile, for a amount of 180€, i openned a dispute on paypal about the money, i dont know HOW they did that, but the transaction on g2g was done via "Friend And Family" so they won the dispute ( And it's a order from the website, not a direct conversation between the thief and the seller, so i couldnt get back my money on paypal after many attempt of dispute and even police report of it
so i contacted g2g support, who basically take the side of the thief, even with ALL the evidence someone stole me money from it
So next step is a direct complain against the owner of the website

I hope people will be careful with this website

Based on what you described, I don't see how the site is at fault here.

The security of your paypal account is your responsibility, and no one else should be losing money if it gets hacked.

The site clearly took the thief side and protected him instead of trying to help me, i openned a dispute on paypal and they showed proof of "delivery" of the item, problem i didnt order it since it was order with my stolen paypal account, and paypal took their side on it
Then i contacted them by mail explaining all the situation, showing them police report i filled about that, they answered me the same way they did with paypal, that the item was delivered and they couldnt do anything about it because for them, i was the one buying it and clearly refuse to answer

Moral of the story ? i lost 180€ and G2G doesnt give a **** that it was purchased with stolen money, and more surprisly, where is the security check ? why the thief could pay without any identity checking ?

They aren't supposed to compensate you.

Imagine yourself as the store owner. Someone comes, pays you 180€ and you deliver the item. Then, someone else comes and proves that the money used was theirs and that it was an unauthorized purchase. What do you do? Refund them and take the loss, because they didn't protect their money well enough? I don't think so.

If companies were expected to compensate unauthorized purchases, many of those business would become much less profitable and it would open room for abuse. I could give my paypal to a friend from a different country, let them make a purchase, then get my money back by reporting it as unauthorized. How would anyone prove whether it was actual hacking or if we had a deal?

From the store's point of view, money was received and the item was delivered. Both paypal and g2g handled it correctly.

As for the security checks, it's strange that they didn't work, but at the same time, those are all automated systems that can be bypassed if the hacker is skilled enough.

I'd recommend downloading and running Malwarebytes or some other virus scan at this point then. Its still very unlikely to be a keylogger though. Especially if they bothered to stop at that amount of money. Typically if someone is going to bother keylogging for information they are going to fully abuse it, and from your statement you had a credit card linked to the paypal that they could have easily abused.

I will do that
and well, my credit card have a protection, no matter what, there is a code sent to my mobile required for any purchase on internet

and the point still stand that g2g is protecting the thief, allowing him to keep everything he bought on their website with my money, and not doing anything to help me beside sending me the same message over and over each time i try to contact them :

Thank you for contacting us!
We have escalated this issue to our respective team for further checking. We will reply to this email once there is an update on this matter.
Thank you for your patience.

i'll probably just empty my paypal account and will never use it anymore, not the first time they take a thief side ( when you sell a item and the buyer chargeback and you end up having to lose what you sold and the money, and they protect him instead of even asking you proof )

This isn’t G2G’s fault though and they shouldn’t be forced to pay out due to an unauthorised payment

Besides this is how most if not all sites would do, even places like ******** will side with the seller so they don’t have to compensate, unless there is indisputable evidence to back up ur claims

Even if there's evidence, they still aren't supposed to refund the buyer.
The buyer is the only one at fault if they lose access to their account.
