So during my 3-4 months being a moderator on these forums I have noticed a lot of scams going on with in game currency especially D3. So my question for the community is Do you think people selling in game currency should be EpicNPC verified? Post your thoughts and lets us know.

I personally think everyone who wishes to use the site needs to be verified. $10 isn't going to break anyone's bank when they are spending at least $15 a month sub to a game.

Banned - dispute - https://www.epicnpc.com/threads/keiichi-owes-me-fees-i-hope-he-is-okay-cool-dude.1433002/
Well some unverified actually holds their promises and delivers the in-game currency, but most of the time not.
I think it should be an requirement to be Verified to be able to sell in-game currency for the buyers sake. Most ppl who spend 10€ only for Epicnpc verifyment dosn't scam, well yes it has happend that some epicnpc verified got banned from this but not even close to half amount of the unverified users. So my vote is that it should be a requirement to be able to sell gold, sor accounts etc.

Having Currency sellers be verified will help to an extent yes, but like all things in this market it won't make it "safe", just "safer." It'll hurt those in it for a one-time sale, but I think in the long run it will help.

Like Sidney812 I concur to an extent. In my experience by what I've seen, user Brtev has a similar system he uses on his site, in which he requires everyone to be verified before they are allowed to buy/sell for everyone's protection. It's worked really well so far, it's not full-proof though as nothing is; it takes time though to verify everyone. EpicNPC is much much bigger compared to his site so implementing verification for everyone would be difficult but doable. Efficient but slow. I would think a slow implementation of having everyone verified may actually help, possibly by Tiers

As an example I've purchased upwards of a million of wow gold via the forums here. By following some of my own strict guidelines, to date i haven't been burnt on a gold purchase.

I have bought from a mix of verified and non verified. Mostly non verified. If the requirement came in, I wouldn't have been able to purchase the amount of gold i needed at the time
in fact I probably only would have gotten a couple of hundred K at most and the price would of most likely been impacted due to the reduced availability because of an epicnpc verification.

Look at the number of verified banned on here over the last 3 months. If you are going to get scammed it will happen regardless.

I voted it would make no difference. Seems I was the only one to date that did so. Gratz me. :-)

I do not think it should be required.

Verified has been required for account access type transactions (i/e powerleveling, farming, grinding, raiding and such) for years. And for a good reason.

Gold selling has also been around for as long or even longer.

If you look at the stats of scams over the years, in my honest opinion gold sale fraud via forums is significantly lower than account related fraud. With the recent scams of higher reps taking place it does make one think.

Think of all the orange and verified/TWV people that have gone rogue over the years, yes there have been some, and the ones that still keep true to there name. Money does talk and for the right price some people will go rogue as we recently did see. Some people yes, do abuse their verified privileges by doing some good transactions with members to gain a good image, then screw someone for the big money.

Very long story short, if you require all gold/currency sellers to get verified on the forums, gold sales via this forum will drop significantly. I was in the gold business at one point and have been verified, but it is all some people do and others do a mix of things. If you require that gold sellers get verified that would be almost the same thing as saying, hey next we are going to make m chain traders and account sellers do it to too. Gold is selling a product just like an account or key's. In a gold transaction the risk of losing money is there when they don't pay off in the gold. You also have the risk in accounts, lets see, when your account disappears 2-3-6 months later, you are burned out of the same money in a longer drawn out process. With gold transactions as long as you are safe and smart about your purchases, if you get burned you should still be able to recover your monies saying that you use a proper payment method that you can recall.

Getting scammed alot of time has to do with people not knowing the in's and outs of this market, whether new or just ignorant of how this market goes. All known people on this forum including me have been scammed at least once in our years. I am currently creating a safe buy/sell/trade tutorial to help people out. If people don't take the steps to protect their money, their negligence makes me not care nor feel sorry for them one bit. We all do make mistakes when buying in this market, but learn from them.

I believe that it is pointless, if you do it, why don't just all become verified so we can be an exclusive CostCO bay club and **** eachother over.

Think about it when you go to buy the fake rolex's from the guy off of the street, and when you hand him the money he just runs off, you could have known a little better...
