It's not working for me. The close thread option just closes the thread like before, without applying the prefix. Maybe the close thread option that moderators have overrides this new feature?

I can't replicate.

I logged into a mod's account and used the ... "Close thread" option and it worked.
I then used the moderator menu and used the "lock thread" option and that also worked.

what option are you using?

I only have "close thread", there's no lock thread.

Using the close thread option locks it without changing the prefix.

I tested on this thread: https://www.epicnpc.com/threads/2034445/

The "closed" prefix appears on the thread list page. If you have the thread open, it will still show the original prefix.

can you confirm that's what happens?

Didn't know that. Just checked again and it does indeed show in the thread list when I use the close thread option.

I thought it behaved like a regular prefix. After using the option I refreshed the page and it was still "selling".

This feature request asked to make it easer for members to see "closed" threads on the thread list page. We show an lock icon already, but it's small and on the right side, so we added the "Closed" prefix for this reason.

Inside the thread, the reply box is gone and it shows closed, so we I didn't think changing the prefix was needed there. If it's confusing or we get some complaints we can change that also.
