Buying a Laptop

**** dells, I bought an over priced POS one cause I was stupid, if I could do it agian, I would spend half on buying a bomb *** desktop and half on a decently working laptop, much better imo!

Buy one from a building website like ibuypower.com or something, prebuilt computers in general suck ***. The specs are fine but it'll be loaded with cpu eating shitty programs you don't need and second hand parts.

I'm going to agree with Ranku here. Have you considered a mac as well? I know that they get a lot of criticism, but they last for very long periods of time, have a great warranty plan, and are constantly updating and innovating. I used to have deep discontent for mac until I was forced to switch over for school purposes and their configuration. I must say, after having used one for my fourth year now, I wish I had used one all along. The software is awesome, and the ease and speed that they process at is amazing. It's expensive, I will not deny that, but you really get your money's worth. Best of luck with your decision!

Stay away from the HPs. My dad has bought around five this year because they're cheap with some pretty decent specs but they slow down so fast I cannot fathom how they operate any longer.

that is user error, not hp error

I can without a doubt consider it mostly hardware/software error since one of them, especially my mother's, is used for simply checking e-mail and hosting her songs on iTunes. There is no games, no extra software, no additions, no downloads, nothing. On top of that, the memory is almost capped off and there are no viruses. So I don't know what it is, but those computers specifically have been slow in my own household, and we own four of them currently. Compared to the other desktops and macs we own, they are crap. That's my experience, though.

I have a Mac and HP. Ive used HP for 10 years now, bought around 10 of them. Ive only had issue with one and they fixed it with no issues. So, saying HP is shitty is just a personal opinion. Now, My Mac is awesome too. However, They both have their advantages. Mac is far superior imo with video and phot editing. CS4 and CS5(beta) run so much better on a Mac than a PC. My PC has wayyyy more memory and power than the mac yet still lags behind a tad. So its a personal choice. They are both great computers.
