Woke up this morning to a message asking for my epicnpc log in verification.
I’m assuming someone somehow managed to log in as me but failed when the verification didn’t get replied to.
A little concerning considering I’ve never had anything like this happen. But I can see how a scammer could easily make use of an account to scam unsuspecting buyers.

Of course I very quickly changed my password, even though it was already a unique one. I never follow links that I haven’t initiated so don’t think I’ve been caught that way.

Has this Happened to anyone else?

Hi,

I never heard of a case like this but it is untypical to compromise an account like yours since you are a new member without any feedbacks. Is it possible that you logged in on another device and when someone tried to log in again, it asked for your F2A? I highly recommend using password managers here is some software for free - click here.

If you have any additional questions, let me know.

I was fast asleep, and had not even switched on my computer. So there’s no way it was any of my devices logging in.
It’s a bit strange hence why I’m mentioning it here.
something to watch for maybe.

it happens a lot thats the point of email verification and or two factor authentication. if you sold an account here previously or in future, make sure its not the same password as anything else you have because people WILL try to login to your other accounts with it. they will even try similar combinations to get into your account. if the password you had for account is for example password1234 they will try that and any similar combination like password123 or 1234password.

Run windows defender or another antivirus and a malware scan like malware bytes just to be sure.
