    Skimlinks

    For pro sellers-this is necessary?

Additionally, having something like that on a forum such as this, while short term might generate a few dollars of additional ad revenue, in the long run serves to do nothing but annoy your users.

People come looking for one thing and instead get a skim links ad? I stopped using these forums for quite a bit because of this reason and now have had to take the time to figure out what words are going to random shopping links added to avoid having those links within posts.

For example, listed a character with 40k gold and this came up:

Newegg.com - Warhammer: Dawn of War (Jewelcase) Gold Edition PC Game THQ

World of Warcraft takes you to Amazon:

Amazon.com: world of warcraft: Video Games

Slimlinks are normal links, they do not popup or have any added styles to them like other text link ads do. So I don't think there "annoying" at all, but I've turned it off for Premium Pro Sellers.

That was exactly my point. They are styled just like every other link. People click them thinking they are going to something relevant to what they are reading-but instead they end up on Amazon.

I guess since I always check the URL before I click a link, it doesn't bother me as much. But like I said, I've turned it off for Premium Pro Sellers.
