Thread: My dream rig is finally done!

This has been months in the making, but I have finally finished up my computer build and could not be happier!
Here is a rundown of the hardware and then for some eye candy!
Excuse the bad pics, taken with a cell phone and I will take some proper ones once the excitement wears off and I am done playing every game under the sun fully maxed out

Tower:
Case: Corsair 800D - few mods to fit all the cooling
Motherboard: Asus Formula Rampage III Black Edition
CPU - Intel i-7 990X - Overclocked to 4.7 GHz stable with temps between -3C and 6C under load
Ram - Patriot Gamer Series 1600 24GB (6x4GB)
GPU - Nvidia GTX 580 Black Ops (3GB) x 3 in tri-sli
SSD (Boot and Games) - Intel 128GB 525MB/s x2 in raid 0
HDD (Storage) - Vlociraptor 600GB 10K x2 in raid 0
Optical Drive - Asus Blu-ray Writer
PSU - Corsair 1500W + 2000W
(1500 powers the components while the 2k is used for all the cooling)

Cooling:
1x XSPC 360 Rad - top
1x XSPC 240 Rad - bottom
1x XSPC 120 Rad - back
1x Cryo 180 TEC cooler - front - for the CPU, the mobo and gpu's are on a water loop with the 3 rad's
Corsair Ram Cooler for the ram - might add these into the loop eventually
16 x Cooler Master Sicle-Flow 12mm fans
Lamptron FCS Fan Controller
Various tubing and fittings to put it all together

Monitor: 42" 3D Ready 120Mhz refresh Samsung

Mouse+Keyboard:
Razer Lycosa paired with a R.A.T. 7

The cooling killed the price tag.
The TEC cooling for the cpu was 1,100 alone.
With monitor it all came out to just under 9.

nice, gotta admit, I'm jealous

Bet it could handle anything, especially with 24gb ram - never even heard of that much in a pc xD

Extremely jealous of this rig, just about finish building my own and it only cost me around $1.5k, doesn't even really have any type of cooling which I should probably invest in.

Except my two HDD's I have ordered were defective or DOA and now I have to wait until Thursday to see if a new one comes in alright.

Biggest waste of money I have ever seen.

Waste of money? Hardly.
Some people turbo charge their cars and invest thousands into them when in reality they will not be able to fully use it on a daily basis.
Some buy and collect guns, knives, stamps and coins that just sit there and you look at them.
You buy WoW accounts worth thousands of dollars when in reality those items are just virtual goods and eventually will vanish as WoW will not be a game that lasts forever.
I spend thousands on a computer to overclock it, set benchmark records, play every game on ultra with 200+ fps and render videos and audio.
We all have our thing, this is mine, so to me there is no better way to "waste" my money.

I also updated a few things. Decided to shake the ram fan's as they are practically useless and tucked the wires away for better overall case air flow.
Dropped a few degrees, which allowed for higher clocks, which in return allowed me to break into the 3D Mark Vantage Hall of Fame for the Extreme Preset.
I will continue to work on this and eventually start bumping into 3D Mark 11's
