New Forums + Change in Forum Rules
Over the last few days, the mods and I have discuss removing one of the forum rules in the Prohibited Materials section. Namely,
We have decided there was really no reason to restrict this content on the forum so the rule is no more. I've create a new forum area MMO Bots, Exploits, Server Emulation & Guides where members can now post and discuss these various subjects.Third party hacks, private servers, dupe bugs, gold farming or advertisement of/for such etc, is strictly forbidden.
Let me know what you guys think and if you want more subcategories for games or other areas of discussion.
----------------------
Apart from the new forums, I also moved around some of the old ones.
"Gaming Corner" change to "General"
Aion forum removed
Starcraft 2 forum moved into the Buy/Sell Trade Category
The following forums have been moved to the "General" forum category.
The Watering Hole
Hardware & Software
Art, Banners, Graphic Design
Rants, Raves and Screaming Lunatics!

Just wondering why do you think MD implemented that rule in the first place? Also, aren't you worried that private server discussion may lead to some serious consequences, as it's illegal?

The reasons of the original exclusion and the recent change in that status isn't open for discussion. The story you linked is also a private server company as in they host servers. WE simply offer a forum to discuss such activity and do not personally host servers so thats not the same.

Im not sure if Marcus ever made it public knowledge, so I won't go into detail. The short story is that MD ran into some legal issues some time ago, however as Hyk stated it is no longer an issue so we will be allowing it.
We are not running an emulated server, we are simply going to allow people to discuss running them and advertiser their own if they wish. No legal issues there.Wasup with this then?

That was a civil lawsuit. No jailtime involved at all she's just poor for the rest of her life. If you start making 3 million dollars off a private server I'm sure they will come for you too.
I have a solid community for private servers on www.twinkinfo.com with some solid resources for those looking for more info on making a private server or are looking for a private server.

Mmowned was a scamming site, I don't see that happening here.

There's a huge difference between allowing members to talk about botting/exploits than talking about actual scamming/phishing/keylogging like they do on MMOWNED. No comparison really.

Actually, MMOwned went slightly more white-hat a few months ago. They removed the scamming forums and changed it to "Scam Prevention". That does however not change it's history and it still has the same user base. The site is less of a "scum" based forum now and it was a move in the positive direction honestly.
